Hey! Here we are back at it again with another blog post! This week was great for me because I accomplished my goal by receiving winter clothes and more shoes. I now want to receive more boys clothing and that is what I will strive to do this next week. I also think it would be a good idea to get blankets, socks, and any other warm clothing we are lacking on, but I know I have quite a bit. I think my group and I should get together and go to the store to get such things. I have not mentioned this to my group yet, but I think they will like the idea, especially since we are getting close to the end of our project and we plan to only improve with it. I plan to post pictures of my clothing and journey soon on one of my blog posts. I was originally going to do it on the last week, but I think I may do it next week just to show all of the progress that has been made. I am also thinking about putting my bin up again since it had so much success the last time I did it, and I am sure Reece and Cecily will think it is a good idea to do it again too. These last couple of weeks have been a little overwhelming with all of the clothing and organization, but I think that is a good thing seeing all of the items my group and I have. Something I hope to improve on this week is group communication and getting together to do certain things for our project because it has been a little independent lately. Thank you for reading another blog post and come back for next week's post!

Hey there! Welcome back to another blog post! I can't believe we are already half way there. This week were not able to get together, but we still continued our whole donation process. Reece was in Florida this past week visiting a friend, Ashlyn, and she was kind enough to give Reece a few pieces of clothing. I didn't really get any donations this week because I needed some time to organize things and figure out what I have. I still strive to receive clothing such as winter items and shoes. Luckily I did get two more pairs of shoes and I know that Cecily got a few pairs. More information about what we have so far is in Cecily's blog for week six. I am starting club season for volleyball which gives me another opportunity to ask more people and teammates for donations. I am very happy with the way we have been working and our contributions to the project. As long as we continue to accomplish our goals and make new ones as we go one, this project will end in a huge success. Anyways, come back for next weeks blog and find out what we accomplish next.
Howdy! Welcome back to week number five! This week was very successful for me because I received the most donations I have had so far. My group and I got our bin's this week and we set them up in our community. I finally got to set mine up at my dad's restaurant and there were some very generous people. My bin was filled up to the top by the time I left. I was very happy and so were Cecily and Reece, but I think my bin was definitely more successful than Cecily's because the only thing she received was a candy wrapper. :) I know that Reece had three boxes full of clothing and I know that Cecily has gotten many donations and quite a load of clothes. I finished cleaning out my closet, and I realized I had more items than I thought. I have a good amount of boys clothing, but I am still shooting for more. The only thing I am a little worried about is shoes. I have mentioned this in a previous blog, but I haven't had much luck. I found about two pairs of shoes that I could donate, but that is definitely not what I was looking for. Finding shoes is my next goal and I plan to achieve it. Something that I was proud to accomplish this past week was receiving warm and winter clothing. It wasn't a lot, but I now have four winter coats, a couple of hats, and plenty of scarves. I also found different pairs of gloves in my parents room. I don't think they know about it, but i'm sure they would be happy to donate. Anyways, my group and I are continuing to strive with our project, and we know that we can improve even more.
Hello, and welcome back to another blog post! This week my group and I brought back up the idea of our bins and setting them up in certain places outside of school. Like I have mentioned before, I will be setting mine up at my dad's restaurant. We also made posters for our bins, and people will be able to get more information about us and our social media. This week I will be buying my bin to finally set up and continue my group and I's success. We also made a list of the people who have already contacted us and donated. This list also concludes of people who plan to donate. We have contacted the people who haven't reached us yet about the deadline and when they should donate. I started to wash and clean some of the clothes this past week and they look really good. I also started to sort them out into different fashion categories along with sizes.
Today, my aunt is coming over to drop off some old clothes she had in her closet along with some of her son's clothes. Both of her sons or my cousins are boys, so that gives more diversity with the clothing because I have gotten a lot of girls clothing. I focus to get more warm clothing this week from the people who have not donated yet who plan to. One thing I haven't gotten yet was shoes, and I figured that they are pretty important, so I will be talking to my group about it because I don't think they received any shoes either. I plan to go through my closet again and finish up what I need to donate this week. We are definitely on our way to reach our goal, we just have to stay focused and get the rest of the donations from our peers. Welcome back to week 3! We are already one fourth done with our project, which is a little weird to think about, but it is very exciting. This past week was all about the continuation of donations and keeping up with them. We have a lot of clothes that were donated which is exactly what we wanted. I had more and more friends coming up to me telling me that they can donate. Not only do we have kids our age donating, but also adults. I got some employees at my dad's restaurant to give some clothing items to me which is what I hoped for. I haven't gotten a bin yet to put up at my dad's restaurant, but I will be doing that soon. We posted on our Instagram page about last chances to donate and I think that helped. If you don't know, our project has changed slightly from what it was going to be originally. At first we were going to add our own twist to clothing and donate the items or sell them, but now we are just receiving as many clothes as we can get and giving it to Mr. Bailey's House of Hope. Mr. Bailey's house of Hope is basically a group home for young people who need somewhere to stay and Bailey and his wife help these young people get their lives back on track and they also teach them how to live on their own. I definitely like what we are doing now because my group and I know that we are giving back to others who need things like clothing. Hopefully we will get in touch with them again soon and fill them in on our project. Once we finish up with donations, we will give all of the clothing that we got to Cecily and she will keep up with them. Right now I am focused on sorting the clothes out that I have, washing them, and keeping them clean and ready to go. Come back to next week's blog to stay updated!
Welcome to my second blog post! This week was somewhat similar to last week because my group and I are still trying to persuade people to donate. We have had quite a bit of luck with people donating different clothing. We posted our first donation on our Instagram page which is called racclothingdrive if you would like to check it out. We have made a long list of people that would like to donate, so as long as those people stuck to their word we will be successful. We decided that we will be getting most of our donations outside of school because it is a little difficult to get them through the school. In order to stay on top of our donations we will retrieve bins and stay organized. I will be attempting to get donations at my fathers restaurant by putting up signs and a stand to donate. I will also be letting my whole volleyball team know about my project to get the word out there. Reece will be putting a bin/stand out at her church for donations and Cecily will be informing friends and the community. We will be doing these things in about two weeks or so and hopefully we get a lot of people to participate in donating. A lot more friends and family contacted me informing me that they have plenty to give which I was really excited about. Reece and Cecily have also had people contacting them and we think everything is working out well for us. Next week we will continue to receive donations and hopefully spread the word even more. We will also be working on our bins and when we will be putting them out. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for next week’s blog and progress!!
Welcome to my first blog post! Cecily, Reece, and I are very excited for our project, especially the clothing part of it, but first we had to do the technical side of it. This past week Cecily and Reece were able to set up our Instagram page for people to generously donate different clothing items. On the page are different posts describing each of us and what we can contribute to the project. Hopefully we will get enough donations, so we can add our twist to the clothing and donate it to those in need. I was able to go through my closet and pick out different clothing items such as sweaters, jeans, shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets. I have an idea of what I want to do with them and I have been watching videos to get inspiration. I also went through my brothers closet to find boys clothing in multiple sizes. I have also been asking family and friends for donations and a lot of them have been kind enough to give some of their clothing to me to help others. Hopefully we will be starting to work on these clothes in about 4 weeks or so. I think my group and I have been very successful for our first week of our project and I know that Cecily was able to get approval from the HOSA club for sponsorship. I know that as the season goes on it will only get colder, so I think my partners are focusing on obtaining warmer clothes for the type of weather approaching us which is what I will be trying to do also, but I may throw in other clothing for warmer seasons. My goal for the next week is to persuade as many people as possible to donate clothes to us and I aspire to get all different sizes and styles. Stay tuned for next week's blog!
